International Airports
Most visitors arrive in Bulgaria by plane. Bulgaria currently has four international airports, Sofia, Plovdiv, Bourgas and Varna.
Sofia airport is the main transport hub for flights to Bulgaria and services the capital as well as the mountain ski resorts of Bansko and Borovets. Sofia airport has direct scheduled flights all year around from most European capital cities direct. The flight time from the United Kingdom is under 3 hours. In addition direct flights are also now becoming available from regional cities within Europe as well. A good example is direct flights from Manchester to Sofia.
Varna airport is the main airport for Bulgaria's Black Sea coast. It is connected with major airports all over Europe and further afield. Direct flights now operate all year around from an increasing number of destinations. Most notably, British Airways fly direct to Varna from London all year around.
Booking your flights
